To become a licened stockbroker, you must pass the series 7 exam. The test is 250 questions and is delivered in 2 sections. Each section of the examination is 3 hours long. You do not need to take up all of that time during the Series 7.

The passing grade for the test is 70% and your score is compiled as soon as you finish. The examination is given on computer in a multiple choice format. Students must answer each question during the test. You have an option to change your answers after the exam is finished, before submitting the final selection to end the test.

People looking to get in the industry should familiarize themselves with the Series 7. Once you are hired by a brokerage firm, you can sit for the examination and get your series 7 license.
