Florida Home Inspector Courses

Learn online and begin school training to become a Florida Home Inspector. Training can be completed on your own time, based on your schedule. Learn to earn part time or full time to become a working Florida inspection professional.

This school curriculum provides you with the knowledge base you need to successfully begin your Home Inspection career. Included in this curriculum are the following technical modules: Interiors, Exteriors, Electrical, Insulation & Ventilation, Structural, Plumbing, Roofing Systems, HVAC, and Garages.

This curriculum also includes a module on business practices in the Home Inspection industry. Includes module exams to test your knowledge. This course is approved by the American Society of Home Inspectors and the National Association of Home Inspectors.

Pass the course and get your certificate

Once all Florida school courses are completed, you will be issued a Home Inspection Course Certificate. The Certificate will be mailed to you after you have satisfied all course requirements.

Florida Continuing edcucation school courses include:

  • Roofing Systems - Learn the fundamental components, materials and mechanics involved in roofing and exterior system inspections. This course covers nomenclature, materials, installation methods, proper reporting to clients and other parties, history of residential roofing, known defective materials, typical maintenance needs, roofing components and more.
  • Plumbing - This course provides you with a sound introduction to the components, materials and mechanics of plumbing systems. Learn the basics of supply, drain, waste and vent piping, fixtures and materials. Topics include proper installation practices, inspection methods and strategies, history of indoor plumbing, sources of potable water, heating, cross-connection control, and typical conditions found.
  • Electrical - Performing electrical inspections requires a general working knowledge of the fundamentals of wiring, voltage, current and materials typically encountered. In this course, you will learn the tools and methods required and grasp the ramifications and magnitude of conditions found during the inspection. Topics include overview of electricity, service equipment and grounding, resistance, wiring methods, devices and lighting fixtures.
  • Insulation and Ventilation - This course teaches you the requirements of insulation and ventilation. Learn the fundamentals of heat, heat transfer, types of insulation, moisture movement, and more. You will gain a solid understanding of the types insulation materials, the types of ventilation systems, and more.
